How To Submit Photographs To The Club Galleries
The Rules
- You must be a member of Croydon Camera Club.
- The photographs must be for 1 of the following: your Personal Gallery, the "Competition Gallery",
or the "Theme Gallery".
The Requirements: Full Valet Service
With "Full Valet Service", you send your original photographs to
Croydon Camera Club and all the work is done for you. This is the Club's preferred option.
Use the following standards for each Photograph:
- File Quality: The highest quality file you have. JPG (JPEG) format. Several MBs
is preferred. The file will be cut down to size for web display, as well as a thumbnail created.
- A Title: One for each photograph. Make it the filename.
- Name: Your name.
- Gallery Name: The Gallery where the photographs are to be displayed.
- Special Instructions: There may be additional information to be shown next
to the photograph, a preferred border colour, or other criteria you feel are important. Keep it simple.
The Requirements: DIY Service
With the "DIY Service", you do all the hard work yourself, and then sent the final photographs to
Croydon Camera Club. If it's not quite right, you may need to do it all over again.
Use the following standards for each Photograph:
- File Format: A good quality file in JPG format.
- Pixel Size: Not more than 550px wide or 500px high. Remember,
not everyone has a large high-definition screen.
- File Size: Not more than 50Kb if possible, but never
ever greater than 100Kb. Remember, not everyone has broadband.
- A Thumbnail Image: Not more than 120px wide or 120px high.
Try to keep it less than 6Kb in size.
- A Title: One for each photograph. Make it the filename.
- Name: Your name.
- Gallery Name: The Gallery where the photographs are to be displayed.
- Special Instructions: There may be additional information to be shown next
to the photograph, a preferred border colour, or other criteria you feel are important. Keep it simple.
Send It
Finally, eMail it to the
Croydon Camera Club for inclusion on the Web Site. If there are far too many MBs to eMail, send it
the Club on a CD. Don't forget to say who you are and add any instructions you may have.
