To summarise:
I will meet Tina & Graham and Jeff at East Croydon at 3pm. We will then meet David & Keith at Battersea.
Think we will head into Battersea park first before it gets too dark to see if there are any daffodils, snow drops emerging before heading to the power station for dusk.
Paul HeesterModeratorAhh engineering works, a constant battle
Ive checked the National Rail website and it does indeed state “Trains between East Croydon / Clapham Junction and Watford Junction will not run.” However, all is not lost! We can still get trains to either London Bridge or London Blackfriars. From there we get on the Northern Line to Battersea Power Station. It will take a bit longer given there is a reduced service but still doable. For that reason Im still happy to go along but understand if others want to have a re-think.
Paul HeesterModeratorHappy to have you both along
Paul HeesterModeratorWhat great atmosphere! Can see the mist wafting around, well done on getting up for the shot
Paul HeesterModeratorHi Ron
Was that taken from a boat? Ive been on a boat trip in Norfolk (although not sure it was here) and my shots were terrible due to movement of the boat so well done on getting a sharp shot!
Paul HeesterModeratorLooks like they’ve gone to great efforts to decorate their shop windows. Well captured!
Paul HeesterModeratorHi Ron
I missed this post. I think you’ve done great to bring out the tones in his jacket and hair, I know with my own shots his hair almost disappeared! The halo effect around his hair and top of the guitar can be easily cloned out.
PS if a judge were to say “if wish his eyes were open” then he’s compeletly missed the point as to me he’s just lost in the moment musically.
Paul HeesterModeratorHi Andy
We dont have many portraiture members at the club so I doubt none of our members use anything specific outside of basic adjustments with LR/PS. Some of the apps Ive seen in the past allow you to change eye colour and smooth out skin tones but many of the features can be achieved in LR/PS anyway, it would just take longer rather than a one-click button.
Have you been taking portrait shots lately and did you find any useful software yourself?
Paul HeesterModerator(Belated) Merry Christmas all and Happy New Year.
Tina – I like your title “Chairman of Vice”, you’ll have to let us know what vice you intend for 2023 ;-)

Paul HeesterModeratorHi Ron
Thats a great shot and I like how you’ve completely blacked out the background (some black velvet maybe?). With all those great textures and details I think it would also work in mono as well.
Paul HeesterModeratorYes he is a great model and glad you got some usable shots out of the night. I particularly like your Jimi Hendrix images. Thanks once again to Emmanuel for the lighting and backdrop.
Paul HeesterModeratorIssue has now been resolved and you should be able to register and receive lost password emails. If not then please email me direct.
Paul HeesterModeratorAnd here is the second one!
Paul HeesterModeratorThis is at least the first image!
